The Greatest Murder is Mind Obliteration

Or mindbending stories which degrade your life motivation
[CONTAINING 1984 SPOILER]

For centuries, we have been asking ourselves about our own existence. The questions goes from philosophical to neuroscientific range.
You must have been familiar with Descartes quotes: I think therefore I am. Can we prove what is existence at all? Or is it mere illusion and subjective field?
We are perpetually tested as sentient being, pushed to the limit of our conciousness and questions about the entity of the mind itself.
1984, aside of being a prominent dystopian book, is also a good philosophical book. Living in the world where the reality is continuously re created and past leaving no trace in empirical existence, How can you be sure about what is really existed?
The worst thing about the world 1984 depicted is they can get into you.
You may argue that the memory contains the existence and by that, we know something has ever existed. This is where the greatest murder commited in an extreme scale, which your emotions are not even contained.

[SPOILER ALERT]
In 1984, the book emphasized several things which can kill your mind. One of the most interesting thing is they collaborate language and information control with emotional and physical torture. Let's take a look about doublethink.
I think this is a revolutionary, shocking idea, yet still possible and effective in application.
This doublethink is kind of 'mind-surrendering' exercise. The first step is to understand, to know, and to believe two contradictory words as the truth.
You might like to try it.
2 plus 2 makes five
black is white
War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength
Then repeat it for the rest of your life, everyday, any time.
The most fascinating result of this language control is your mind will be more feasible to receive anything they choke into you. Recent dystopian novel seems running around triangle love, killing frenzy and weird government rules. They are pretty decent actually, but not so menacing. The world created by George Orwell is pure terror, helplessness, and brilliant.

Our hero is not a badass, but a fatalistic ordinary person oppressed by the system. Through his mind, we can see, feel, and terrified by the party and Big Brother. Talking about existensial crisis, there are many moments which mentioned his view about it. Reality is inside your skull. Then if the external existence has been exterminated, then your faith about the truth inside should be eradicated too.
This is what happened to him. He is vaporize, he is murdered, in the worst possible way.
They did torture him physically. But they are just trying to snatch what is inside.

It is your free thoughts.

[END OF SPOILER]

To make it brief and less abstract, lets give it a review.

1984 is not a simple reading, but it is a thrilling one. It is a philosophical, mind bending book which delivered a strong message. Written in 1949, George Orwell tried to explain how terrible totalitarian system can be.
If you are trying to search classic novel or good dystopian book or both, you can try this one.
I would assure you that it is a good book. However, i dont recommend this for people who like happy ending( TRY UNWIND INSTEAD).

For me, I enjoy this book thoroughly. From every words, every diction, every description and every twist. You may not be engaged with the main character, but you would be engaged to the story, to the world, to the idea and to the richness of vocabularies.

The pessimistic of the story is in pair with Junji Ito's Uzumaki and Urobochi's Madoka. For additional information, I also love both Uzumaki and Madoka
